Spug Conversions
This section deals with some simple conversions to the standard Spug models.
You will need a pin vice (drill), needle file, a modelling knife, cutters and super glue. All of these items must be used with great care.

Blood Reaver Cavalry
After the Scout had been finished, it was decided to make a unit of Spug Cavalry. These would use the Blood Reaver mounts by Brigade Models. These beasts are seriously nice and would complement the Spug riders very well.

Brigade Models Blood Reaver (with original rider) painted by Abstracity
There is only a single model of the Blood Reaver available consisting of two parts, the main body and the left front leg. There is some flexibility when mounting the front leg in different positions to make the models look less uniform.

Blood Reaver leg positions
With the front legs attached, some brute strength was used to bend the tails of the models in different directions, as much as possible anyway, they are quite thick and not that easy to move!

Limited pose modifications
The Spug riders where easy enough to work with, most were not modified except for removing the head and replacing it with a helmet.
One of the models was modified to take a scanner as shown below.

Reaver rider components
The saddle was simply made from a blob of Green Stuff and molded onto the back of the Reaver. The end of a paper clip was pushed into the leading edge of the saddle as a hand rail.

Green stuff saddle and rider
An indentation was made on the rear of the saddle for the butt of the Spug.

Saddle groove
The Spugs were painted the usual way to match the rest of the army. The Reaver mounts were painted green with grey saddles. A simple of quick paint scheme, but reasonably effective.
