Spug Conversions This section deals with some simple conversions to the standard Spug models. You will need a pin vice (drill), needle file, a modelling knife, cutters and super glue. All of these items must be used with great care. Heavy Infantry with Heavy Machine Gun Having originally added a Laser Cannon to a Heavy Infantry model, I really wanted to add a Heavy Machine Gun model at some stage. I finally got my hands on some more models from Spriggan Miniatures and set to work. In my opinion, the best Heavy Infantry model to use is the one that holds its standard rifle across its chest. As the Heavy Machine Gun is a large weapon, the craddling action of the second arm will help support the Heavy Machine Gun and make a better finished model. Heavy Infantry HMG components The main rifle part of the standadr weapon was cut down near the elbow joint. Then the rear of the Heavy Machine Gun was trimmed to match the shape required on the arm. The two bits were then drilled and pinned to make a good firm component. Heavy Infantry HMG finished weapon conversion When the arms were attached, the second arm was positioned so that it would support the rather large Heavy Machine Gun. I wanted to add one of the small Missile Launchers to a Heavy Infantry model. The first idea was to have the extra weapon mounted on a short pole either right over the models head or off to one side on a shoulder. However, the Missile Launcher actuall fitted very nidely on the standard rifle weapon arm. Heavy Infantry with Missile Launcher combi weapon To make it even more fun, I decided to use a couple of Rare Earth Magnest to make the Missile Launcher removeable! Removed Missile Launcher Now the model can be used as a standard Heavy Infantry model, or, pay the extra points and add the supplemental Missile Launcher.
