Spug Conversions
This section deals with some simple conversions to the standard Spug models.
You will need a pin vice (drill), needle file, a modelling knife, cutters and super glue. All of these items must be used with great care.

Regular Infantry with Shard Cannon
The first heavy weapon for the Spugs was the Toxcannon. As this is primarily a teardrop template weapon, the range is limited. What was needed was a HMG style weapon with greater range. The plan was to try to graft a massive Shard Cannon onto a Regular Drone model.

Drone with bits to be used
The parts used were a Drone Alpha SP03 (Spriggan Catalogue Number), a Shard Cannon from the Exosuit, a head and forearm from a Light Infantry model (SP11).
Part of the Shard Cannon was cut away to allow the grafting of a Spug arm onto the weapon. Since the Shard Cannon is such a large weapon, the arm supporting the bulk of the weapon have to be integrated.

Trimmed Shard Cannon with pin ready for the arm
The Light Infantry arm was originally attached to a Shard Carbine. The main part of the weapon was carefully removed to leave the arm and the handle element of the weapon.

Finished Shard Cannon ready for the body
The forearm with the weapon was removed from the Alpha Drone and saved for another conversion. The elbow joint was drilled and pinned taking care to trim the elbow joint so it would form a reasonably snug seamless join.

Off with his head...and bending the arms into position
With the weapon ready to be fitted, the models head was removed. An alternative head was required with a electronic eye attachment instead.
The arms now had to be carefully bent until a good position was reached. The left arm was to be used to support the underside of the weapon, after a few attempts, a suitable pose was struck!

Fitted Shard Cannon
With the weapon fitted it was starting to look as if the conversion would work and it would not look unbalanced!

Add one head, all done
The last thing to do was to add the alternative head. It was pinned to ensure a good fit. It was simply a case of lining up the head so it was looking in the direction of the weapon.
Now then, where are those pesky Grymn...
