Siege! Regency vs Living Dead
In this battle, 4000 points of Living Dead attacked a castle defended by 2000 points of Regency. Tony would be controlling the Regency castle, with Chris commanding the hordes of the Living Dead.
The Living Dead had a single siege tower at their disposal which was packed with skeleton warriors. Zombie commanded by Frankenstyne pushed the tower along whilst the Vampire Lord Army General and a Wight Lord bostered the attacking troops.
A unit of skeleton archers were also to harry the defenders in an attempt to split the defensive fire. However, the prospect of skeleton archers hitting many targets was not going to trouble the defenders...

The various units on foot were equipped with ladders and battering rams.
The Armoured Skeletons, the elite unit of the Living Dead, advanced with the added protection of a couple of Mantlets. Also in their ranks, was an added surprise...
The Ghouls were manning the covered battering ram, although in retrospect, this was probably no the best use of a unit with no armour, low toughness and two attacks...

The covered battering ram and armoured units move to assault the walls and gate.
Having been hit by a few cannon shots and a fireball, the skeletons on the top of the tower had been decimated. Even the number of Zombies pushing the tower was being drastically reduced.

The Armoured Skeletons made the most of the mantlets. The Peon Beast and a Wight Lord urge the undead forwards.
At the top of the picture below, the Doomsday Mine can be seen being carried by two skeleton warriors.

As the numbers of models pushing the siege tower were reduced, the skeleton warriors carrying a normal battering ram were to ditch it and assist in the movement of the tower.

The units in the centre of the assault made contact with the castle. The Ghouls began the task of battering down the castle gate whilst the defenders poured boiling oil onto them from the hoarding. Their number were quickly reduced, thus reducing the strength of the hit inflicted on the gate.
The Armoured Skeletons moved their ladder to the wall and prepared for the assault.
At the bottom of the picture below, the Doomsday Mine has nearly reached its goal...

The Armoured Skeletons ascended the ladder and gained a foothold on the castle wall. The Regency Honour Knights after initially being pushed back, regained their resolve and beat off the assault.

The Doomsday Mine had made its way to a wall section and the skeleton warriors quickly retreated before the bomb exploded. The damage inflicted was substantial, yet the wall just held...

It's Gonna Blow!
Meanwhile in the hoarding, the Regency Noble charged the Vampire Peon Beast and an epic battle ensued lasting several turns. The sheer brutality of the Peon Beast was no match for the skill of the Noble and the Peon Beast fell beneath the Regency blade.

As the struggle in the hoarding continued, the skeletons on the siege tower found it almost impossible to maintain a foothold on the castle wall. The Regency Crossbowmen and the elite Fusiliers poured volley after volley into the skeletons on the siege tower drawbridge with few making it across. The Vampire General and a Wight Lord were among the few to survive the ranged combat attacks yet fell to the overwhelming numbers of the Regency Swordsmen.

Forward!
As the numbers of the undead diminished and the damaged castle wall withstood additional attacks from the catapults, the Regency forces declared victory. This day would not go to the forces of darkness!

Victory!
