Ghoul Bolt Thrower Scuplted by Bob Olley This model was first spotted in TMP in July 2006 and as soon as I saw it, I knew it had to be added to the Living Dead army. This model would work well in the large siege games when my undead horde spend an afternoon attacking a Regency castle. The Base The Ghoul Bolt Thrower is moulded on a solid lead base. The rest of the Living Dead army is based on square or rectangular plastic bases. It was decided to remount the Bolt Thrower on a somewhat modified plastic base so it would match the bases used elsewhere. Figure 1. The first stage was to cut out the middle section of the plastic base to approximately match the size of the lead base. At the same time, a small amount from the leading and trailing edges of the lead base were trimmed so it would comfortably fit inside the plastic base "frame". Figure 2. Once the fit was good, the edge of the lead base was glued to the plastic frame. The gap between the lead base and the plastic was then filled ready to be undercoated. Figure 3.
